L=6W, area is A=LW, given 24ft^2, so 24ft^2=6W*W => 24ft^2/6=W^2 => 4ft^2=W^2 => sqrt 4ft^2=W => 2ft=W, so L=6(2ft) => L=12ft, to check: A=12ft*2ft => A=24ft^2, so L=12ft and W=2ft answer. hope this help (@_@)
