Some help with Epson Stylus RX600, please?

I have a Epson Stylus RX600 and it has given me a trouble while scanning negatives... it scans the first photo but on the second a table pops out which says that: be sure the machine is properly connected to the pc or plugged to source...could it be the usb connection? thank you! :)
