How to keep your house clean!!!?

ok guys here is the deal..i live in a 2 bed one bath house with my husband and 8 month old..it is so small you can actually stand at the front door and see what is going on in every roon including the bathroom...we have so much stuff i pick up and pick up and it is still a cluttered mess you cant even get through the living room without stepping on and over everything...i need tips to help me keep it clean...keep in mind i have an 8 month old and this is why i am doing it cause at this point i cant put her in the floor....i dont want any negative post like "clean it up that is nasty" cause nasty it is not all the food is where it should be not nasty on the tables and all the dishes are done and trash is in the trash...i would like tips on how to keep clutter down...also i have no place to store anything and this keeps shopping to not what we want but only what we need...thanks
