Just a general tip: it's best to add just a pre-paid credit card or a debit card. Your credit card information will be saved and can easily allow for accidental purchases. Plus, if you want your credit card information to be removed, you need to ring up and request for it to be - just can't do it yourself. (Or, from what it was a few years ago.) Anyway, I would also suggest just to reset your internet connection with the Xbox, if that may be the problem. (Since it does not it can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE).
